  1. Macintosh:
  2.     This describes how to start using the World Factbook.
  3.     See the file "contents.txt" for more information about what is
  4.     included on this CD-ROM.
  5.  
  6. QuickStart:
  7.  
  8.     1. Open the "MAC" folder.
  9.  
  10.     2. Choose one of these two methods to access the World Factbook:
  11.           a) TextWare:
  12.                    double click on the "WFB1994.TWC" icon.
  13.  
  14.                    (Features full text, plus appendices, consular notes, 
  15.                     background notes, fast searches, photos, maps, charts,
  16.                     and the ability to print the maps/images! )
  17.  
  18.           b) HyperCard:
  19.                    double click on the "World Factbook 1994" icon.
  20.  
  21.                    (OR if you have a small or B/W MAC SE, or Plus screen:
  22.                    double click on the "(12 inch) World Factbook 1994" icon.
  23.                    (Features Geographical Navigation + selection,
  24.                    photo slideshow, maps, charts and more.)

  26.     3.  HyperCard Hints
  27.          Help is available under the "Help" Menu
  28.  
  29.     4.  TextWare Hints
  30.          The data starts with a table of contents on cards 1 and 26.
  31.          Use the "Go to Card" in the "Options" menu.
  32.          Help is available under the "Apple" Menu.
  33.          For more detailed help, double click on the "TextWare Manual.".

  35.     * You may choose to run TextWare from your own hard drive, to do this:
  36.         1. copy the folder "MAC" to your hard drive.
  37.         2. make sure the CD is in your CD-ROM drive and mounted
  38.             on the desktop.
  39.  
  40.     * Image Printing Note: Choose "Black&White" in the print dialog
  41.         (Color/Grayscale takes a long time...)
